Daniel P. Varrenti

Daniel Varrenti was sworn in as the Police Chief of the Village of Brockport in early 2002. Prior to becoming Chief, he had over 23 years experience with the Irondequoit Police Department.  As a Lieutenant, Chief Varrenti was the commanding officer of the Irondequoit Police Department's Special Service Section. He was in charge of all criminal and youth investigations and was the Administrative Commander of the Multi Agency Drug Task Force - consisting of six different police agencies throughout Monroe County. Chief Varrenti is an expert in Eavesdropping Investigations and has authored and executed in excess of 1000 search warrants.

Some of his other achievements include restructuring and benchmarking the Internal Affairs Unit for the Irondequoit Police Department resulting in a decline of 75% in citizen complaints against police officers and developing and administering a 40 hour college accredited course in the management of major criminal case investigations.

Chief Varrenti is also an FBI National Academy Graduate who holds a Masters Degree in Public Administration at SUNY Brockport and a Bachelors Degree in Criminal Justice at SUNY Buffalo. In addition to his duties as the Police Chief of Brockport, Chief Varrenti is an Adjunct Instructor for the Criminal Justice Program at SUNY Brockport and also administers the same course at Monroe Community College in Rochester.
